Installation Services

eScription approaches each customer installation with an unwavering commitment to a quality process and a focus on customer results. Experienced eScription Project Managers lead the effort, working hand-in hand with your organizations medical records and IT staff. Our goal: to deliver a system that meets each facilitys objectives, and is completed in a smooth and timely manner.

Our Guiding Principles
Three guiding principles are at the core of every EditScript implementation:
Smooth integration with Health Information Management
Little to no change to clinician workflow
Focus on business results

From the first kick-off meeting through the day-to day implementation tasks, your assigned eScription project managers will work through a carefully crafted three-phase plan to meet project milestones, while minimizing disruption to HIM staff and dictating clinicians. We help define a roll-out strategy that is right for your organization.

We focus on your organizations business results, taking time to ensure that installation decisions reflect desired outcomes. What are your turnaround time goals? Is cost savings a priority? Where are your current MT resources in-house or outsourced and what are your plans? What incentives do you provide for productivity? Does your organization want to further standardize and centralize medical records? These are just some of the questions we explore as we install each new eScription customer.

Proven Installation Process
Each new customer installation project is run by a project manager and an assistant project manager, and takes up to six months. Following our guiding principles, eScription employs a proven, replicable three-phase plan for all projects, covering:
Discovery and Design
Configuration, Integration and Testing
System Activation and Go-Live

Phase 1: Discovery and Design
At the start of a project, eScription reviews and analyzes all aspects of your current environment along with the goals you want to achieve. We participate in on-site meetings and discussions with several members of your team to ensure that every requirement is surfaced. The eScription project manager delivers a detailed, customer-specific project plan at the conclusion of this phase, covering design criteria such as:
transcription workflow
HIPAA requirements
style guidelines
distribution options
report formats

Phase 2: Configuration, Integration and Testing
The EditScript solution, based on an ASP model, involves a variety of features that must be configured for each healthcare organization. Using information from the Discovery and Design phase, your project manager will work with your team to configure EditScript with institution-specific requirements, such as:
business entities (departments, clinics, billing groups, etc.)
work types
clinician profiles
transcription priority rules
distribution parameters
user access rights
electronic signature

At this time your IntelliScript voice capture hardware will be set up on site, and configured to match your organization's specifications and clinician preferences. The EMon administrative console will be installed, as will the EditScript MT transcriptionist tools for any in-house MTs.

Your eScription installation team works closely with your internal technical staff to set up the necessary integration with your other healthcare information systems. We have experience integrating with systems from a variety of vendors, including Eclipsys, Epic, IDX, LastWord, Meditech, SoftMed and others.

A six-week integrated testing period concludes this phase. eScription works with you to develop a comprehensive test plan and trains your staff, as needed. Together, we evaluate and confirm that all aspects of your new EditScript dictation, transcription and document distribution workflow are functioning smoothly.

Phase 3: Activation and Go-Live
The Activation phase begins with a brief early adopter period during which time a few clinicians start to use the new system, followed by the official go-live and full rollout as planned. Some customers deploy enterprise-wide immediately, others implement a rollout on a facility or departmental basis. Your eScription project manager will join your team on-site as the official go-live takes place.

Supporting your rollout, your Project Manager will also coordinate the Training that needs to take place for your administrators, in-house MTs, or MTSO.

Commitment to Excellence
From our managers and team leaders to our newest staff members, the eScription Installations Team is dedicated to customer success. Our expertise includes healthcare information systems, IT, transcription services, and project management. We understand that the EditScript installations process is the start of a partnership with eScription that will continually help your organization decrease turnaround time, save costs, and streamline transcription workflow across the enterprise. We look forward to working with you.
