Voice Capture

eScription provides options for voice capture that enable clinicians to dictate into familiar devices from multiple locations. We support dictation via telephone and digital recording devices.

The IntelliScript™ voice capture product for telephone and dictation stations improves transcription productivity by simplifying and speeding the dictation process for clinicians, optimizing the digitized voice for speech processing and transcriptionists' use, and by providing managers with one system to update and maintain.

From a telephone or digital recording device, clinicians follow a familiar dictation process: they enter an ID, patient account number or medical record number (MRN) and work type, and then dictate their reports. As needed, they can suspend, review or edit their dictations through easy-to-use, customizable commands, requiring little - if any - retraining when an eScription solution is implemented. In fact, since customers typically request that a new dictation interface mimic a former system, most clinicians are not even aware that IntelliScript has been installed.

	Customizable prompts and keypad settings can be created for specific departments, individuals or work types.
	Clinicians have extensive voice editing capabilities.
	IntelliScript uses a decentralized approach that separates dictation capture from the process of assigning work to MTs.
	Clinicians needing immediate patient information can phone into IntelliScript and obtain secure access to dictations using a MRN or account number though a secure listen line.
	An administrative broadcast message allows a recorded message to be played to all dictating clinicians.
	IntelliScript features an Emergency Transcription System that enables healthcare organizations to continue transcribing documents during scheduled downtimes or unscheduled network outages.

Audio Optimization
Using advanced technology, IntelliScript voice capture software records, digitizes and optimizes the audio for our AutoScript speech processor that automatically converts the spoken dictations into fully formatted draft texts. Unlike most traditional voice capture products that compress audio, IntelliScript records the dictation at the highest possible quality, taking advantage of high speed Internet communications to maintain the information provided in the original spoken dictation. Because the user's voice is not distorted when it is recorded, AutoScript can recognize, interpret and format the speech very effectively.

Architecture
The IntelliScript software runs on open architecture, fault tolerant, industry-standard hardware and is located locally to reduce customers' telephony charges. Because IntelliScript is integrated with EditScript, administrators have one system to update and maintain. For example, when new clinicians need to be added to the system, the entries need only be made once, saving time and reducing errors in the process.

Voice Capture for Handheld Devices
Organizations that want to support handheld digital recording devices can still use IntelliScript. InteliScript can provide software that creates a dictation interface from the digital device into the EditScript process, bypassing the IntelliScript voice capture server. Our Installations team will set up approved handheld dictation devices based on your organization's specifications and requirements. PDAs can also be integrated with EditScript via commercially available software.
