Transcription Tools
Our EditScript transcription tools
are designed to speed the editing process for MTs. Early on, our
developers watched MTs at work to understand the way they process
transcriptions and to explore features that would make them more
efficient. We continue to observe behavior and work closely with
users today.
The tools we offer are an important component of our
Computer Aided Medical Transcription (CAMT) technology and, along
with our speech processing
approach, has resulted in the significant productivity gains that
our customers have achieved. Further, because EditScript is integrated with our speech processing engine, the corrections that MTs make using the
software provide important, automatic feedback toward improving
our speech processing models in a timely way.

EditScript is fully integrated with the latest
versions of Microsoft Word and takes advantage of familiar word
processing features. In addition, eScription has added hotkeys and
other shortcuts to address the specific needs of MTs as they transcribe
and/or edit documents.
Each dictation file includes integrated audio and text. During
the editing process, MTs listen to clinicians' dictations as they
simultaneously view the first drafts on screen and make any revisions
necessary. Through a variety of special features, EditScript
boosts productivity while providing a satisfying work environment
for MTs.
Audio Playback Control speeds up dictations automatically
while retaining natural voice quality. Should MTs want to adjust
the speed manually, they can do so as well.
Patent-pending Two Cursor Approach enables MTs to track
the dictating voice and the text document separately, facilitating
multitasking. eScription also fully supports foot pedals and allows
MTs to customize their use.
Productivity Aids such as hotkeys and other shortcuts handle
routine edits and other functions such as a physician 'look up'
in the database. They also handle typical punctuation 'fixes' in
documents.
Workflow Control Features allow MTs to work at a steady pace,
without interruption. Dictations are downloaded as MTs edit, so there
is no delay between documents.
