Four Years Running, eScription Leads Transcription and Back-End Speech Recognition Market Segment; Ranked #1 in KLAS 2007 Mid-Year Report
August 14, 2007 (Boston, MA) — For the fourth consecutive year, eScription, the leader in Computer Aided Medical Transcription, was recognized by KLAS as a category leader in its Mid-Year Report Card. The company’s EditScript™ software ranked #1 in the Transcription and Back-end Speech Recognition market segment as a result of surveys and interviews KLAS conducts with customers. The report (published in June) recognizes vendors that have “excelled in their respective market segments,” signifying “leadership in working with customers to resolve issues and match expectations to reality.”
The Mid-year Report is based on data collected over 13 months, from April 15, 2006 to May 15, 2007. With an overall score of 90.74, EditScript was the highest rated product among like products in its category. In addition, EditScript received the highest score or tied for the highest score in 37 out of 40 questions asked by KLAS on a variety of indicators, such as implementation, support, and business results.
“eScription’s speech recognition has provided tremendous benefits to our organization. By using the #1 product, we have met our goals of increased productivity, improved turnaround time, and significantly reduced transcription costs, stated Verlene Miklich, Director of Health Information Services at Quincy Medical Group in Quincy, Illinois.
eScription compared EditScript to the 185 General Market software products that meet KLAS’ minimum confidence level. EditScript received a score of 90.74, and the average overall score was 80.44.
eScription’s award-winning product is based on the simple premise that it is faster to edit than to type. Using a proprietary background speech recognition engine, the software creates formatted draft documents that medical transcriptionists (MTs) subsequently review and edit, often doubling productivity. Based on the preference of the healthcare organization, the MTs may work in-house or for an outsourced service provider. The software is proven to help healthcare organizations save costs, reduce turnaround time, and streamline processes in clinical documentation.
“The past four years have been marked by rapid growth at eScription. To continue to receive this #1 KLAS standing four years in a row reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff, and their focus on our customers’ needs and goals, from the implementation phase, to ongoing training and support,” commented Ben Chigier, CEO of eScription.
