eScription Releases Version 7 of Its Medical Transcription and Clinical Documentation Products
February 12, 2007 (Boston, MA) — eScription, the leader in Computer Aided Medical Transcription, announced today the general release of Version 7 of its software products for Dictation, Transcription, Background Speech Recognition, Electronic Signature and Document Distribution. The upgraded eScription products demonstrate significant advances in functionality for users, including clinicians, administrators, and medical transcriptionists (MTs.) eScription provides its software products to healthcare organizations nationwide.
The Version 7 upgrade, which is available at no charge to eScription customers, includes more than 25 new enhancements to the integrated product suite. eScription selected these new features based on input from its customers provided at the Company's annual User Meeting. Among the many new features, Version 7 enhancements include:
- Broadcast message for dictating clinicians
- Enhanced password security
- Improved speech recognition learning algorithms
- Multiple e-signature options
- Flexible print templates
- New QA tools for managers
- User-configurable validation rules
- Optimal path for STAT dictations
"With Version 7 eScription has provided improvements to all products in its integrated suite, said Suzi Liang, IS/Special Projects Manager of Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare. "We are particularly excited about the e-signature enhancements, and the new print templates, which are faster and easier to use and update."
eScription's award-winning product for Computer Aided Medical Transcription is based on the simple premise that it is faster to edit than to type. Using the company's proprietary background speech recognition engine, the software creates formatted draft documents that MTs subsequently review and edit, often doubling transcription productivity.
In December 2006, eScription's EditScript product received its third consecutive Best in KLAS Award, ranking #1 in the Transcription and Back-end Speech Recognition category. In addition, eScription compared EditScript with its overall score of 91.98 to all products in the KLAS Top 20 Report. This comparison revealed that out of more than 200 products of healthcare software vendors that meet the standards for KLAS' minimum confidence level, EditScript is the third most highly rated product. The average overall score for 2006 is 79.91. Annual KLAS awards are based on surveys and interviews with customers. (Top 20 Year-end Best in KLAS Awards ©2006 KLAS Enterprises, LLC.
