eScription Software Leads Market Category, Receives Excellent Ratings from its Customers in KLAS 2007 Speech Recognition Report
July 9, 2007 (Boston, MA) eScription, Inc., the leader in Computer Aided Medical Transcription (CAMT) software, announced today that its software received the highest ranking from KLAS in the category of back-end speech recognition, as published in the market intelligence firm’s 2007 Speech Recognition Report (May, 2007). KLAS Enterprises, LLC measures and reports on the performance of Health Information Technologies (HIT) vendors utilizing surveys and interviews with healthcare provider organizations.
Based on its customers’ ratings, eScription software received the highest scores in 39 out of 40 indicators among all products in the back-end speech recognition category, with data for which KLAS has statistical confidence. The software received an overall score of 91.1 out of 100 making eScription #1 among its peers in back-end speech recognition. To achieve a KLAS confidence rating vendor products are required to be live and operational in a minimum of 15 acute care customer organizations. Not only does eScription have a well-established customer base, it also achieves very high levels of customer satisfaction.
Additional findings in the study demonstrate the excellence of the eScription product:
- eScription had the highest overall score of HIT vendors as well as back-end speech recognition vendors (both in the Speech Recognition speciality report and in the broader KLAS database); it also exceeds both scores for each individual indicator. “This represents excellent scoring,” according to the KLAS report.
- 100% of eScription customers stated that the company’s software was part of their long term IS plan, and 97% would buy the software again from eScription.
- eScription received 85% positive commentary, which was 29 percentage points higher than its closest competitor and 22 percentage points higher than the average HIT vendor. Consequently, other products in this category are below average. eScription’s positive commentary rose by seven points compared to 2006.
- The eScription product demonstrates the least variability amongst its scores.
- In a review of win/loss data, KLAS comments, “there was insufficient loss data to report percentages for eScription because most of the respondents who considered eScription selected them.”
Respondents to the KLAS report survey consistently reported the quantifiable benefits of back-end speech recognition as increased productivity, improved turnaround time, and decreased costs. In addition, the report notes that speech recognition addresses the needs of today’s healthcare environment where there is a shortage of qualified medical transcriptionists and an increasing volume of medical records.
