eScription Customers Receive Awards for Million Dollar Savings and Productivity Gains of More Than 125%
June 18, 2007 (Boston, MA) eScription, Inc, the leader in Computer Aided Medical Transcription (CAMT) software, announced today the recipients of its Million Dollar Award and Productivity Award, which were presented to customers at its annual User Meeting, May 17-18, 2007. Seven eScription customers received Million Dollar Awards by realizing cost savings of $1 million dollars or by reaching a new level of million dollar savings using eScription software. Four customers were recognized with the Productivity Award, acknowledging that their in-house transcription teams achieved more than 125% productivity improvement – the improvement in editing versus traditional transcription.
eScription presented Million Dollar Awards to four customers that demonstrated their first $1 million in cost savings: Carle (Urbana, IL), Charleston Area Medical Center (South Charleston, WV), Mount Carmel Health System (Columbus, OH), and Quincy Medical Group (Quincy, IL). Additionally, eScription recognized three organizations for achieving more than $4 million in cost savings: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston, MA), Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, MA) and UNC Health Care (Chapel Hill, NC).
“Carle is very pleased with the results of our partnership with eScription,” stated Tricia Truscott, Director HIM, Carle Clinic Association and Carle Foundation Hospital. “We've been able to reduce turnaround time, reduce our dependence on outside transcription vendors, increase physician satisfaction, and deliver impressive financial results.” Mary Britton, Manager, Central Dictation at Carle Foundation Hospital added “It is gratifying to be recognized with this Million Dollar Award, and know that all the hard work being done by your transcription team has paid off not only for them but for the organization.”
eScription provides background speech recognition and transcription software that is focused solely on increasing the productivity of medical transcriptionists (MTs). These productivity gains drive significant cost savings for the healthcare enterprise by enabling organizations to reduce or eliminate outsourcing, take on additional transcription work without adding resources, re-deploy internal MTs, or reduce the cost per line as a result of editing efficiencies.
Each year, eScription recognizes customers with in-house transcription teams that achieve more than 125% productivity improvement. The 2007 Productivity Award was presented to Quincy Medical Group also a Million Dollar Award winner, Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare (Carson City, NV), Marin General Hospital (Greenbrae, CA) and Novato Community Hospital (Novato, CA).
“I was so honored to receive both the Productivity Award and the Million Dollar Savings Award from eScription,”commented Verlene Miklich, Director of Health Information Management at Quincy Medical Group. “As a result of our group’s incredible productivity gains, we are handling more than 50% more transcription volume with fewer resources. Our turnaround time has been reduced from an average of two weeks to 24 hours,” she added.
“This year’s Award winners deserve a standing ovation for their dedication and commitment to high quality medical records service,” said Ben Chigier, CEO of eScription. “We are proud of our customers’ successes and the growth of our Million Dollar Club of organizations that have achieved significant cost savings as a result of Computer Aided Medical Transcription.”
