CEO and Chairman:
Paul Egerman
Mr. Egerman brings to the company extensive experience and industry
leadership in electronic medical records and health care systems.
Formerly, Paul was the COO of IDX, a worldwide supplier of administrative
and financial solutions for health care organizations. Paul founded
IDX and grew the company from a start-up to a publicly held corporation
with over 2,000 employees and more than $250 million in sales. In
1991, he received Inc. Magazine's "Entrepreneur of the Year" award,
and currently serves as chairman of the Massachusetts Software Council.
He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology.
CEO and Chairman:
Ben Chigier
Mr. Chigier brings to the company more than 20 years of experience
in speech recognition technology. Ben served as CEO and Chairman
of PureSpeech, which he also founded, a pioneer in speech recognition
for the telecommunications market. PureSpeech sold more than one
million copies of its award winning software through a variety of
distribution channels prior to being acquired by Voice Control Systems
in 1998. Previously, Ben developed speech recognition systems for
NYNEX and the Computer Science Department at Carnegie-Mellon University.
He holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and in Mathematics,
and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie
Mellon University.
Sales:
Peter Dolphin
As Vice President of Sales, Mr. Dolphin manages the national sales
team at eScription. He has nearly 20 years of demonstrated sales
leadership in medical information systems. Prior to joining eScription,
Mr. Dolphin worked at IDX in a variety of sales and management positions,
where he focused on opening new markets for IDX systems and was
consistently recognized as one of the company's top performers.
In account management roles, he working closely with major hospitals
and large medical groups nationwide to introduce the organizations
to new technology and help them use it successfully. He holds a
B.A. in Economics from Providence College.
Marketing:
Lauren Richman
Lauren Richman directs corporate communications and strategic marketing
programs for the company. She has more than 20 years of experience
marketing information services and technology solutions. Lauren
was director of corporate marketing at SpeechWorks, a $40 million
speech recognition company (acquired by ScanSoft, Inc. in 2003)
where she directed the company's lead generation, advertising and
public relations programs and supported its IPO in 2000. Previously,
she worked at Vicorp, a provider of telecommunications software
and at Citibank in New York City and Hong Kong. She has an MBA from
Columbia University and a B.A. in Communications from the University
of Pennsylvania.
Product Development:
Edward Brody
Mr. Brody is responsible for the team that develops and maintains
eScription products. He was a member of the original engineering
team that designed and built the initial system and many of its
components. Prior to joining eScription, Ed was the chief engineer
and director of product development at Voice Control Systems/Philips
Speech Technologies, responsible for implementation and integration
of its speech recognition products. Previously, he managed the embedded
systems development group at Voice Processing Corporation after
spending ten years in its R & D group. He graduated from Harvard
University with a B.A. in Physics.
Automatic Speech Recognition:
Dr. George Zavaliagkos
Dr. Zavaliagkos leads the Speech Recognition and Natural Language
Processing group at eScription. George is a key contributor to the
field of speech recognition and language understanding since 1990.
He has more than 50 publications in journals, referred conferences
proceedings and book chapters. As a Senior Scientist at BBN technologies,
he led several government funded projects to improve state-of-the-art
of speech recognition. His BBN team was judged to be the best in
four consecutive annual technology evaluations sponsored by the
National Institute of Standards and Technologies. As a Distinguished
Scientist at L&H he was a key contributor to its desktop dictation
offering; he subsequently led the efforts to integrate technologies
of various companies acquired by L&H, including Dragon Systems.
George holds a Ph.D. from Northeastern University and Diploma from
the National Technical University of Athens.
Chief Architect:
Jim Boucher
Jim Boucher has over twenty years of software engineering experience
in a variety of application areas. He began his career in the word
processing development group at Wang Laboratories building multi-lingual
spelling and grammar checkers and on-line reference works. He spent
nine years at Symmetrix, Inc. developing workflow applications and
schedulers for the manufacturing, financial services and health
care industries, and brings this important process-oriented perspective
and experience to the design of the architecture behind eScription's
solution. He has been a key member of the eScription development
team virtually since inception. Jim graduated from Dartmouth College
and holds a Ph.D. from Brown University.
Installation Services:
Maurya Meenan
Maurya oversees the eScription Installation Group, which is
responsible for implementing eScription products for new and existing
customers, and for providing account management services to customers
who have completed the implementation process. Maurya has an
extensive background in health care information technology. Prior
to joining eScription, Maurya was with IDX for 19 years, where
her responsibilities included management of technical installation
and support staff, project management, and implementation process
redesign. She has a B.A. from Princeton University.
