Our company is dedicated to helping healthcare organizations increase the productivity of medical transcription. In light of cost pressures, aging dictation systems, and a shrinking pool of medical transcriptionists (MTs), medical records departments are looking for new ways to deliver the high quality reports and fast turnaround time their organizations demand.

Across the country, healthcare organizations are using eScription software to streamline medical transcription and reduce costs. Intelligent background speech recognition turns medical dictations into high quality first draft documents that are then quickly edited by MTs- whether in-house staff or employed by a Medical Transcription Service Organization (MTSO).

Our solution is saving healthcare organizations hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars per year, without impacting the day to day workflow of clinicians who dictate. (See our Customer Successes section for more.) We are proud of the value and service we provide to our customers, and of the Best In KLAS Award we've received three years running, ranking #1 in the category of Transcription and Back-end Speech Recognition! (See our press release.)

Our Difference...

Founded in 1999 by veterans of the healthcare and speech recognition industries, the eScription team focused its energy and expertise on a new category of technology - Computer Aided Medical Transcription (CAMT) - designed exclusively to improve transcription throughout the medical enterprise. Using our own speech processing engine and other patent-pending technologies, our CAMT solution:

  • Converts Medical Dictation to Text: Powerful speech processing technology converts spoken words to written text using models developed solely from the medical transcription environment.
  • Interprets and Formats Documents: CAMT interprets dictations in order to transcribe what a clinician intends to be in a document, and to format the document as such. For example, when a clinician says "next" the reference may be to '3' in a numbered list, or it may mean the next section.
  • Provides an Efficient Interface for MTs: We make the editing process as fast as possible through shortcut keystrokes, speed controls and other workflow features for MTs and their supervisors.

Other solutions simply do not have the combination of technology and focus that can optimize transcription productivity across multiple medical specialties and deliver a compelling R.O.I. (See our Products section for more.)

Today...

CAMT technology from eScription is being used organization-wide across numerous specialties and work types, including Primary Care, Radiology and Specialty Clinics as well as core HIM functions requiring Operative Notes and Discharge Summaries. eScription is addressing real needs with a solution that works, and our customer growth is a testament to that success. We deliver the most widely used technology for improving transcription productivity in the health care enterprise market today.

Bottom Line for our Customers...
  • Clinicians who dictate are relieved that no explicit training is involved, and that they can speak as naturally and as quickly as they want.
  • HIM directors praise our management tools and our dedicated support team.
  • MTs who edit say that they don't want to go back to 'the old way.'
  • CIOs and CFOs continue to thank us for delivering on our promise of increased productivity and reduced costs.
